A warm welcome to Sea Lion Class from Mr O'Connor and Mrs Butler.
Our curriculum
In year 4, the children become even more independent and opportunities start to arise where some children can take part in competitive sports events outside of school. In June, they also do a times tables check.
The purpose of the check is to determine whether children can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics, and to help identify children who may need additional support. Our timetable
This is what Sea Lion Class learn and when:
P.E. days
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE clothes on these two days.

We continue to try and be as open, supportive and welcoming to parents and carers as possible. As part of this ethos, we hold numerous events for parents and carers throughout the school year but you may wish to note these key dates:

Wednesday 3rd June - Year 6 trip to Chessington World of Adventure
Wednesday 3rd June - Year 2 trip to Stanmer Park
Thursday 4th June - Our last Donate Day of the year
Friday 5th June - 8:55am to 9:25am, EYFS, year 1 & year 2 reading with parents and carers
Monday 8th June to Friday 12th June - Phonics screening checks for year 1 and some children in year 2
Tuesday 9th June - 3:15pm to 4:00pm, Meet the teacher and celebrate learning session for parents and carers (All years except year 6)
Thursday 11th June - Year 1 trip to Stanmer Park

Wednesday 1st July - 2:30pm to 3:00pm, Parents and carers are invited to find out about and see OPAL play
Thursday 2nd July - Year 3 & 4 trip to the Royal Pavilion

Wednesday 8th July - 2.30pm to 3:10pm, Parents and carers are invited to our annual dance festival
Monday 13th July - School reports are sent home
Monday 13th July – Our special transition assembly to support the children moving classes
Monday 13th July – 3:50pm, Parents and carers of KS2 drama club are invited to see their mini-plays
Wednesday 15th July – 2:00pm, Montyz Music performance to the children and parents and carers of children who have lessons or are in a club with Montyz Music
Wednesday 15th July – 3:55pm, Parents and carers of KS1 drama club are invited to see their mini-plays
Friday 17th July - 2:15pm to 3:15pm, Parents and carers of year 6 children are invited to our leavers’ assembly
Friday 17th July - Last day of school

Multiplication tables check
In June, children in year 4 participate in the national multiplication tables check.
The purpose of the check is to determine whether your child can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics.
